The short answer: do not panic-buy a laptop. Contrary to almost every article still telling Indians to "upgrade before October 2026", Microsoft quietly extended free Windows 10 consumer security updates by a full year — you can now stay protected on Windows 10 until 13 October 2027. If your PC still works, you have time. And if you do decide to move to Windows 11, every laptop we stock already ships with it — the readiness table is further down.
Windows 10 reached its official "end of support" on 14 October 2025. To soften that, Microsoft offered consumers a free year of Extended Security Updates (ESU) — critical and important security patches — originally through October 2026. In mid-2026, with a very large share of PCs still on Windows 10, Microsoft extended that consumer ESU by another year, to 13 October 2027, and did so without a formal announcement. You can read it on Microsoft's own Extended Security Updates page; it was widely reported by outlets including Tom's Hardware and BleepingComputer.
Why it matters in India specifically: a large proportion of Windows desktops here are still on Windows 10, higher than the global average. The "buy now or lose security updates" framing that has been driving festive-season laptop purchases is, as of this extension, simply out of date.
Windows 11 has a hardware floor. The main requirements are a supported 8th-gen-or-newer Intel / Ryzen 2000-or-newer CPU, TPM 2.0, 4GB+ RAM and 64GB+ storage. Most PCs from roughly 2018 onward qualify; many older ones do not, which is exactly why so many people are still on Windows 10. If yours does not qualify and still works, the 2027 ESU extension is your friend.
These in-stock laptops all ship with Windows 11 and 16GB of RAM. Prices are live from Amazon.in:

Yes, provided you are receiving security updates. With the free consumer ESU now running to October 2027, an enrolled Windows 10 PC continues to get critical and important security patches.
The consumer ESU is offered free (with enrolment). This is different from the paid ESU that businesses buy — for home users, the extension to 2027 comes at no cost.
No. It keeps working; it just stops receiving new security updates once ESU ends. That is a reason to plan an eventual upgrade, not to panic-buy on a deadline that has already moved once.
